One of my final projects in my final year of university studying Print Production was to plan and manufacture a six page magazine of my choice.
My project was to create a TV magazine with the topic of showing some of the major TV shows at the time. With each students project, they had to submit a research and development folder containing all the different influences the magazine would take after, It also had have a target audience. The target audience for this magazine was from the ages 18-30 as the series' shown were intended for a mature audience. My thought process for the name REMOTE was to have a simple and easy name to recognise and remember, much like Empire or Total Film.
Throughout my creative process of making this magazine I used a number of methods to ensure it was up to a high standard. A few simple ways were to make the project as eye catching as possible, using a bight scheme of colours and a bold font thats easy to read, identify and distinguish from other texts on the same page. Also having a continuous theme of fonts, font sizes as well as the continuous uniform throughout the whole magazine, similar to many professional magazines that we see today.
See below for my work on REMOTE magazine to which I received a 2:1 grade.
Another project I worked on during my second year of university was The Rifleman. This project was slightly different as it tasked my to recreate a magazine that was already existing, changing one key feature for it to be relevant for my second year project. The key feature that I chose to change was the magazines age group, of which the original magazine was intended for an older generation, I then reimagined it to be to directed at a younger generation. Alike the project above I followed a similar progress to creating this magazine, which included research and development to start the concept that would become The Rifleman you see below, which I also received a 2:1.
